About the Villaggio

A gate that's beenopen since 2014.

More than ten years welcoming people on a patch of cerrado, Brazil's tropical savanna, half an hour from Brasília. Six chalets, full kitchens, a solar-heated pool. And a simple agreement: you rest, we look after the rest.

The one who looks after the place

Eli Valter, founder.

I'm Brazilian, born in Porto Alegre, with dual Italian citizenship. I've lived in Brasília since 1976, and I opened the Villaggio in 2014, a small inn in a rural corner of Paranoá. I welcome each arrival in person, from every corner of Brazil and beyond. The name was a deliberate choice: the birds are the hosts. They're always close by, a reminder that this place was made to shelter people and whatever flies nearby.

I wanted to call the inn Villaggio dos Pássaros because the birds are our hosts. They're always close by, a reminder that this is a preserved place, exactly as I always dreamed.
